Mr. Schiff has represented countless professional and collegiate athletes as well as professional entertainers over the past twenty (20) years. While his emphasis is on the business of professional boxing he has represented the likes of The Allman Brothers Band, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Steve Bellisari, Jeff Graham, Tyrell Biggs, Maurice Clarett and Trevor Berbick. Mr. Schiff has acted as a "legal representative" performing functions typically handled by managers, agents, promoters, and general representatives. "As a duly licensed attorney and respected member of the Bar, I am held to a higher standard of ethics, honesty and professionalism than your typical non-lawyer agent, manager, promoter or the like." -Scott Schiff
Additionally, as an expert negotiator focusing on multi-million dollar contract deals, Mr. Schiff continues to successfully represent a handful of elite entertainers and athletes. The list includes but is not limited to the following: BOXING 1.) Tyrell Biggs - Tyrell was a 1984 Olympic Super Heavy Weight Gold Medalist for the United States. He was represented by the Duva Family through a promotional contract at the beginning of his professional career. After Biggs lost to Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe and Lennox Lewis he was released by the Duva Family. In 1993 he contacted Scott Schiff in an effort to resurrect his professional boxing career. Schiff managed to arrange a bout between Biggs and Buster Mathis Jr. Biggs had the opportunity to fight Mike Tyson for several million dollars if he defeated Buster Mathis Jr. He lost. Schiff then negotiated seven additional bouts and paychecks for Mr. Biggs. 2.) Manning Galloway - Manning Galloway held the WBO Welter Weight Championship Title from December of 1989 through February of 1995. February 12, 1993, Manning Galloway lost a decision in Denmark to Gert Jacobsen. Manning returned to the States and hired attorneys Scott Schiff to file an appeal with the WBO Boxing Commission. Scott Schiff successfully won the appeal and Manning Galloway was restored to his Championship status. Thereafter, Schiff arranged four more Championship defense fights for Galloway netting his client hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional purse revenue. Schiff successfully handled Galloway's management, promotions, and legal negotiations throughout the balance of his career. This case marked the first time in WBO history that a lawyer successfully challenged a decision in a fight and had his title restored. 3.) Trevor Berbick - In 1996 Trevor Berbick worked at Schiff's Police Athletic League Gym and helped develop young fighters. Schiff has worked closely developing many young boxing hopefuls. He has worked closely with trainers like Pepe Correra in Washington D.C. Schiff is known locally for donating money to help young fighters develop their careers and in some instances donated money for underprivileged athletes to travel to Colorado Springs for Olympic trails. "Professional athletes, particularly professional boxers, should never be represented by large conglomerations or companies in the furtherance of their professional athletic careers. All an agent or manager needs is a cell phone. There is no way to check their ethics, honesty, integrity or the like. An attorney must complete a rigorous academic schedule as well as pass extensive Bar examinations in order to become licensed." -Scott Schiff
FOOTBALL 1.) Maurice Clarett - OSU running back. Schiff represented Maurice Clarett during the NCAA eligibility investigation which began in the summer of 2003. Schiff was able to keep Clarett's academic scholarship intact and successfully negotiated a conditional reinstatement for Clarett that would allow him to play collegiate football at the Ohio State University for the 2004-2005 season. Scott Schiff is available for elite athletes/entertainers who seek individual attention from an experienced, polished, veteran attorney/manager for representation. Scott W.
